Problem Solving Through Collaborative Play
The goal of this exhibit is to introduce visitors to Innovation Games®, a collection of collaborative games that dozens of companies and non-profit organizations are using to solve complex problems. The design emphasizes collaboration, metaphorical, analogical and critical thinking through low-cost, easily accessible, and highly scalable tools. In-person: A space will be created that has a variety of seed problems for museum visitors to explore and solve through visual, collaborative play. Example: We’ll show a picture of a truck stuck under a bridge and provide visitors with a variety of stickers that they can use to annotate the image to solve the problem. Solutions will be placed on a collaborative wall, where other visitors can comment on and extend these solutions. We will also provide materials for creating new images, new problems, and will allow visitors to upload images into our online web site. Online: We will construct a web site based www.innovationgames.com that will allow the same interaction model describe above in a highly scalable, online solution. Visitors to the web site will be able to collaboratively solve problems, comment on solutions, create new problems, and otherwise interact with fellow problem solvers from around the world.  For more info click here.
